In a rural high-range village called Aanachal, Marykutty, a dedicated and idealistic Gramasevika (community development officer), arrives to promote education, healthcare, and social welfare among the villagers. She resides with a respected elder, Kariyachan, and his family. The local society is troubled by poverty, lawlessness, and unruly men like Kunjuttichayan and his younger brother Pappachan, who engage in illicit timber logging, drinking, and brawling. Kunjuttichayan's reckless lifestyle causes immense distress to his devoted wife, Gracey, and their young child.
As Marykutty goes about her noble work, Pappachan is inspired by her character and turns away from his bad habits. However, malicious village gossip and misunderstandings spread, leading people to falsely accuse Marykutty of ruining Kunjuttichayan's family life. Despite facing harsh insults, isolation, and suspicion from Kariyachan and the villagers, Marykutty refuses to abandon her duty.
When Gracey falls critically ill during her pregnancy, Marykutty secretly pawns her own gold ornaments to procure expensive life-saving medicines. Meanwhile, a violent clash among timber thieves leaves Kunjuttichayan severely injured. At the hospital, the truth behind Marykutty's selfless actions and sacrifices is revealed to the entire family. Overcome with remorse, Kunjuttichayan repents for his past misconduct, and the villagers unite in deep gratitude toward Marykutty, recognizing her as the guiding light of their community.
