Plot

Rajasekharan is an idealist Panchayat President who works tirelessly for the welfare of his village by advocating cooperative farming and fair pricing to protect poor farmers from exploitation. His younger brother Venu falls in love with Nirmala, the daughter of Kunju Pillai, a greedy store owner who opposes Rajasekharan's social initiatives. Kunju Pillai and his crafty assistant Eduthukoduppu Nanu try to block the union due to personal grudges, but the village elders intervene, leading to Venu and Nirmala's marriage.

Tragedy strikes when Nirmala and Rajasekharan's wife, Radha, give birth at the hospital around the same time. Nirmala's newborn child passes away shortly after birth. Knowing that Nirmala suffers from a fragile heart condition and that the tragic news could be fatal to her, Radha makes the ultimate sacrifice: with the doctor's help, she secretly swaps her healthy newborn baby with Nirmala's deceased child. Nirmala is raised to believe the surviving child is hers, while Radha quietly endures the immense heartbreak of childlessness.

Over time, Kunju Pillai continues to instigate conflicts within the family, attempting to force a property partition between Rajasekharan and Venu. However, when the young child suffers a severe injury requiring an emergency blood transfusion, Radha steps forward as the matching donor. The truth behind the infant swap is finally revealed to Venu and Rajasekharan, leaving everyone deeply moved by Radha's selfless sacrifice. Remorseful for their past suspicions and greed, the family reconciles and unites to support the successful launch of the village cooperative movement.
