The film begins at a hill station where Naren serves his insane wife, Yashoda, who is in an asylum. She is the sort of person who lives in her world singing lollops to a doll. Besides, Asha, the daughter of Naren's elder brother Sonu, is ready to depart for the U.S. with her kid. Thus, Sonu & his wife Lalita wish that Asha should take her uncle's blessing, which she denies However, Sonu coaxes and proceeds when Asha is disconcerted to know Naren as his biological father. Accordingly, Naren spins rearwards. During his college days, Naren loved and knitted Yashoda. The couple starts their marital life in a joint family consisting of Naren's parents, Sonu & Lalita, and their child, Raju. Lalita is a vainglory who disrespects elders and shows carelessness towards her infant. Yashoda oversees and sweets Raju as her own. They all lead delightful lives as one, but Yashoda is perturbed as childless. Raju is a lovely end to Yashoda, who thinks and calls her a mother who begrudges Lalita, which leads to hostility. Tragically, Raju dies in an accident when Yashoda becomes a lunatic until she is pregnant. Soon after the delivery, Narayan entrusts the baby's responsibility to Sonu & Lalita, one of those reformed and moves away with Yashoda. Listening to it, grief-stricken Asha silently meets her mother and trains her child to hook up with Yashoda. Finally, the movie ends with Asha proceeding to the U.S.A. by sacrificing her kid with Naren & Yashoda.
