Kathavaraayan “Raayan” grows up in a village, caring for his brothers, Manickavelraayan "Manickam" and Muthuvelraayan "Muthu", and his newborn sister Durga, after their parents mysteriously disappear. When a priest tries to abduct the infant Durga, Raayan kills him. The siblings flee to the city and meet a market businessman named Sekhar, who takes them in.
