In this 1958 Korean film adaptation of the classic folktale, the noble Son-nyong falls deeply in love with the beautiful and spirited concubine's daughter, Chun-hyang, despite their vastly different social standings. Their forbidden romance is tested when Son-nyong's father remarries and Chun-hyang is forced to endure the cruel advances of a tyrannical magistrate after Son-nyong is believed to have died.
